What is Subspace?
By Mara Vale · Reviewed by Elena Ward · Last updated
Subspace is an altered, often euphoric state of mind a submissive may enter during intense play, sometimes described as floating or tunnel vision.
Subspace in context
It is linked to deep focus and the body’s stress response. Judgement can be reduced while in subspace, which is why limits are agreed beforehand.
Aftercare helps return to a normal state. Immersive roleplay can produce a milder version of the same absorption.
